Mansion Sports – Arsenal confirmed their place in the quarter-finals of the 2025/2026 Carabao Cup after earning a convincing 2-0 victory over Brighton at the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners sealed the win in the second half through two key players. Ethan Nwaneri broke the deadlock before Bukayo Saka doubled the lead a few minutes later. 

With this result, Arsenal advanced to the next round, while Brighton’s journey in the competition came to an end.

First Half

The match began with an engaging tempo as both sides opted to field a blend of senior players and emerging talents. Despite playing away from home, Brighton appeared more proactive, pushing forward with confidence and testing Arsenal’s defensive structure throughout the first half.

Arsenal endured early pressure but gradually found their rhythm, matching Brighton’s pace and intensity.

Their persistence was rewarded in the 63rd minute when Ethan Nwaneri opened the scoring. Receiving a short pass from Myles Lewis-Skelly, Nwaneri fired a low shot that slipped past goalkeeper Jason Steele to make it 1-0.

The goal lifted the atmosphere at the Emirates, and Arsenal quickly capitalized on their momentum. 

In the 75th minute, Bukayo Saka secured the victory after reacting swiftly to a rebound from Steele, curling the ball neatly into the net to double the lead.

Brighton attempted to respond in the final minutes, but their efforts were effectively neutralized by Arsenal’s disciplined defense. 

The match ended 2-0 in favor of the home side, ensuring Arsenal’s progression to the quarter-finals.
