Barcelona Target German-Based Star as Torres Exit Contingency

Barcelona Target German-Based Star as Torres Exit Contingency

Mansion Sports – Barcelona continue to keep Hoffenheim striker Fisnik Asllani on their list of alternative targets as a contingency plan for the possible departure of Ferran Torres this summer.

The Catalan club want to extend Torres' contract, which expires in the summer of 2027, but Paris Saint-Germain are pursuing his signature.

Torres feels undervalued at Barcelona. He was given very little playing time last season, while the club are also pursuing Julian Alvarez.

Asllani Prefers Barcelona

According to Sport, Asllani wants to wear the Barcelona jersey even though his talks with Leipzig have already reached a very advanced stage.

The 23-year-old player was close to completing an agreement with Leipzig, but he requested additional time in the hope of receiving an official offer from Barcelona, which remains his preferred destination above any other club.

Asllani Becomes the Ideal Alternative

Barcelona's sporting management view Asllani as the ideal option to provide depth in attack or as a promising investment for the future, especially since his €29 million release clause fits within the club's financial circumstances.

The completion of the transfer depends directly on outgoing players. Julian Alvarez remains the primary target for the attacking line, while Asllani is considered the perfect alternative should Ferran Torres leave the club.

Even so, Barcelona will not rule out signing Asllani even if Torres stays, as the player's price makes him a rare investment opportunity in the current striker market.

Asllani's Ability Attracts Attention

Asllani is capable of scoring with both feet and also poses a genuine aerial threat. He finished last season in the Bundesliga with 10 goals and 7 assists.

The €29 million release clause is not considered an obstacle for Barcelona. They are able to pay it without having to sell a player first, while still attempting to negotiate a lower transfer fee.
