Bayern Ready to Break Record for Gordon, Newcastle Demand €100 Million!

Mansion SportsBayern Munich are reportedly increasing their efforts to sign Newcastle United winger Anthony Gordon.

According to Daily Mail, the German record champions are currently in talks with The Magpies and have held initial exploratory discussions regarding the transfer of the versatile attacking player.

Transfer Fee Expected to Be Extremely High

According to the newspaper, no intensive negotiations have taken place so far. The current first step is to assess how much Newcastle are demanding to release Gordon. That figure is expected to be very high.

The Magpies are reportedly only willing to engage if offers begin at approximately €86 million, although they are aware that Gordon is seeking a new challenge next summer and that Bayern Munich is an attractive destination for him.

Harry Kane is reportedly convincing Anthony Gordon to join Bayern Munich.

Michael Olise’s rapid rise after leaving the Premier League for Munich has reportedly influenced Gordon’s decision to follow a similar path.

According to Sport Bild, his fellow countryman and national team captain, Harry Kane, has met with Gordon to urge him to join the Bavarian club.

Gordon’s agent, Gordon Stipic-Wipfler, has reportedly spent the last several weeks in Munich negotiating specific contract details with the club’s senior management.

Sky reports that an initial contract draft has already been prepared, including key figures, salary terms, and contract duration. If this transfer is completed, Gordon will sign a five-year contract with the record champions.

Deal Still Far from Completion

Newcastle’s reportedly high valuation, along with late interest from Barcelona, with Gordon’s agent Stipic-Wipfler having met sporting director Deco, means this deal remains far from completed.

According to reports, FC Bayern were previously also interested in signing Yan Diomande from RB Leipzig.

Meanwhile, FC Bayern are reportedly seeking a more affordable alternative, as Gordon would initially be positioned in his “natural role”—with Luis Díaz’s outstanding performances on the left side and Harry Kane’s status as the preferred secondary option.

Nevertheless, Sky reported in early April that Gordon is Bayern’s “absolute dream signing” because he is capable of playing in two or three positions and can therefore cover several important deficiencies within the squad at the highest level.

However, The Athletic reported that Yan Diomande of RB Leipzig was initially Bayern’s primary target before being set aside after his transfer valuation was set above €100 million—an amount considered too expensive by the club.
