Beating Liverpool, PSG Reach Agreement for Mohamed Salah’s Potential Successor!
Mansion Sports – Liverpool’s search to find the long-term successor to Mohamed Salah has encountered a major setback after Paris Saint-Germain appear to have moved into pole position to secure one of the brightest talents in Europe.
The Ligue 1 champions are reportedly getting closer to reaching an agreement for RB Leipzig youngster Yan Diomande after the player gave his approval to move to Parc des Princes.
PSG Move Ahead in the Race for the Ivory Coast Star
Luis Campos moved quickly in reshaping the PSG squad following their latest success.
The sporting advisor is fully aware of the need to refresh Luis Enrique’s options in order to avoid “extreme fatigue” and the physical burden that affected the squad throughout a very long season.
With a focus on long-term sustainability, the Paris club has identified a clear need for a dynamic presence on the right side of attack.
While players such as Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Bradley Barcola are more comfortable operating from the left, and Ousmane Dembele is increasingly shifting into a more central role, the right wing has emerged as a priority area to strengthen.
Yan Diomande has been identified as the ideal profile to fill that gap, placing PSG in direct competition with Liverpool, who had previously made the teenager a priority target to eventually replace Mohamed Salah.
Verbal Agreement Reached with Diomande
The race to sign the 19-year-old is now moving clearly in favor of the French giants.
According to Sky Germany, Diomande has given the green light to join PSG, a move that marks an important development in the recruitment process.
The club hierarchy reportedly had been waiting for this kind of mutual interest before finalizing their strategic move in the transfer market.
The Ivory Coast international is said to be less enthusiastic about the possibility of joining Bayern Munich, despite the Bavarian club showing strong interest in his services.
Although he remains interested in the project at Anfield, the momentum is now clearly shifting toward Paris, leaving the Merseyside club facing a major challenge in convincing him to choose a different path.
Leipzig’s Firm Position
RB Leipzig are in a very strong negotiating position. Diomande only arrived in Germany last summer from Leganes and is currently under contract until 2030.
After being named the Bundesliga’s best young player this season following 13 goals and nine assists in 36 appearances, his market value has never been higher.
The German club are expected to demand a very high transfer fee for their prized asset.
However, PSG remain determined not to overpay, maintaining the view that they already possess a squad filled with top-level talent.
Competition Begins to Fade as PSG Lead the Race
The complexity of this transfer has caused other interested clubs to begin falling behind. Although Liverpool’s interest remains genuine, the presence of multiple parties representing the player has made the negotiation process more complicated for many interested clubs.
PSG’s proactive approach and their ability to secure the player’s preference early have given them a clear advantage over their rivals across Europe.
Ultimately, the transfer will depend on whether PSG and Leipzig can find an agreement regarding the transfer fee.
With the player seemingly already leaning toward a move to France, Liverpool may be forced to explore other options in their effort to find a world-class winger capable of filling the void that will eventually be left by Salah’s departure.
