Mansion Sports – Real Madrid defeated Deportivo La Coruña 1-0 in a friendly match on Wednesday evening at the Abanca Riazor Stadium, as both teams continued their preparations for the new season.

The match was evenly contested in the early stages, with the hosts holding a slight advantage while Real Madrid offered only limited attacking threats.

Then, in the 45+1st minute, Brahim Díaz scored the winning goal. He capitalised on a quick counterattack that he initiated himself, which began with a brilliant save from Andriy Lunin following a dangerous Deportivo corner.

Lunin threw the ball with his hands to Díaz, who carried it from the halfway line all the way into the hosts’ penalty area, escaping the pursuit of the La Coruña defenders before unleashing a shot that found the net and celebrating in his trademark style.

Real Madrid Control the Match

For long periods, Real Madrid controlled the match through quick passing and possession.

A well-executed technical move managed to break through Deportivo’s defence, but Dumfries’ cross lacked power and his teammates were unable to complete the attack.

Towards the end of the match, the hosts searched for an equaliser after winning the ball back, but a decisive intervention from Dumfries denied an almost certain shot from a promising position.
