Cole Palmer Speaks Out on Rumors of Leaving Chelsea
Mansion Sports – Cole Palmer has firmly dismissed suggestions that he is unhappy at Chelsea and wishes to return to Manchester.
The Blues star scored a hat-trick away against Wolves last Saturday and emphasized to supporters that he does not pay attention to the various speculations circulating around him.
Palmer stressed that he feels comfortable in West London and has no plans to leave the club in the near future, even describing reports about his departure as unfounded issues.
Palmer Scores Hat-Trick Against Wolves
This season, when compared to the high standards he usually displays, Palmer’s performances have not been entirely consistent.
Injury setbacks and fitness issues have made it difficult for the English forward to maintain the level of form that previously established him as one of the best players in the Premier League.
Nevertheless, in last weekend’s match, he once again demonstrated qualities that showed he should not be overlooked.
Palmer was the standout performer as Chelsea defeated bottom-of-the-table Wolves 3-1 at Molineux Stadium.
Chelsea took an early lead when Palmer deceived goalkeeper Jose Sa from the penalty spot, after Joao Pedro was brought down in the box in the 13th minute.
The Brazilian forward was fouled again, this time by a push from behind while running toward goal, which once more resulted in a penalty being awarded.
Palmer again executed his responsibility perfectly, sending the ball into the opposite corner while Sa guessed the wrong direction.
Palmer completed his hat-trick in the first half when he fired a powerful shot into the top of the net from around eight yards, capitalizing on a cut-back pass from full-back Marc Cucurella.
After scoring, he performed his trademark celebration before covering his ears with both hands, signaling that he did not want to listen to outside noise.
Palmer Denies Transfer Rumors
In recent weeks, Palmer’s name has frequently been discussed, with various reports claiming that he is unhappy in West London and wants to return to northern England, where he grew up.
Palmer is known to be a Manchester United supporter and a graduate of the Manchester City academy, which has recently led to speculation linking him with a potential move to Old Trafford as a replacement for Bruno Fernandes.
However, Palmer quickly played down those rumors after the match against Wolves. In his interview with BBC Match of the Day, he stated that many people enjoy talking about things that are not true and that he does not pay excessive attention to them.
He admitted that he does see the reports, but feels that he has a strong mental foundation and is therefore not affected by the issues that develop.
Palmer Enjoys His Role Under Rosenior
Since leaving Manchester and joining Chelsea, Palmer has developed into a very important player for the club, regardless of who has been in charge as head coach.
He was signed by Mauricio Pochettino, and under that coach Palmer transformed from a squad player into one of the most prominent talents in the league.
After Pochettino’s departure, Enzo Maresca made Palmer the focal point of the team’s play. His contributions helped Chelsea finish in the Champions League qualification zone and secure the Conference League and the Club World Cup titles.
Palmer is now under the guidance of new head coach Liam Rosenior. He has stated that he is enjoying life under the new manager and feels that he is receiving full trust.
Palmer explained that Rosenior gives confidence to all players, allowing them to play freely and express themselves.
He also believes that once he is fully fit again, his best performances will return.
Support from the coaching staff, both on the training ground and through tactical approaches, has made him feel very comfortable.
Chelsea’s Positive Trend Continues
Chelsea have shown a promising start under Rosenior’s leadership and have begun to climb the league table.
The Blues currently occupy fifth place, which could provide a route to Champions League qualification, while they remain ambitious about closing the gap on the teams above them. Chelsea are only four points behind second-placed Manchester City.
