Mansion Sports – The agent of Atlético Madrid striker Julián Álvarez is planning to travel to Barcelona this week to develop a strategy together with the Catalan club.

Barcelona are eager to complete a deal to sign Álvarez. However, Atlético Madrid remain firm and unwilling to compromise after closing the door on any form of negotiation.

According to Spanish newspaper "Mundo Deportivo", the 26-year-old has become Barcelona’s biggest transfer target in recent months, not only to strengthen their attacking line but also as the club’s most important strategic signing.

Atlético’s refusal to change their stance, along with their firm decision to reject all discussions, has brought the entire transfer process to a standstill.

The player’s agent intends to arrive in Barcelona this week to prepare a plan together with the Catalan club, according to the report.

Álvarez’s Agent and Barcelona Develop a Joint Strategy

Both parties must now agree on a strategy to restart negotiations for Álvarez’s transfer. This is the main reason why the representative of the Argentina international is planning to visit the Catalan capital in the coming days.

Barcelona also want Álvarez to take a further step regarding the public stance he showed during the World Cup, when he asked his club to allow him to leave in pursuit of his dream.

The Catalan club want the striker to openly declare that his desire is to join Barcelona. If he does so, Barcelona are prepared to increase their offer from the existing €100 million proposal to €115 million.

Barcelona Attempt to Gain Álvarez’s Support

Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick expressed his support for the work carried out by sporting director Deco on Monday, at the end of the team’s training camp in England.

The German coach also emphasized that he understands Barcelona need to take action to strengthen their attacking line.
