Mansion Sports – Jürgen Klopp is on the verge of being appointed as the new head coach of the Germany national team.

Following the dismissal of Julian Nagelsmann after a highly disappointing World Cup campaign, the German Football Association (DFB) is preparing to finalize all remaining details.

The official presentation could even take place as early as Friday once all remaining administrative obstacles have been formally resolved.

DFB Prepares to Begin a New Era

According to Sky Sport Germany, the DFB is preparing to begin a new era with Klopp. More than three weeks have passed since Nagelsmann stepped down following a poor World Cup campaign, which ended with Germany's elimination in the Round of 32 by Paraguay on 29 June.

A joint meeting between the DFB supervisory board and shareholders was reportedly scheduled to take place on Thursday morning to finalize the agreement.

However, the football governing body denied that official invitations had been sent and insisted that several final details still need to be completed.

From the outset, Klopp has been the preferred candidate of DFB President Bernd Neuendorf to lead the rebuilding project of the Germany national team.

Agreement with Red Bull Clears the Way

The 59-year-old coach is expected to sign a four-year contract that will keep him in charge of the Germany national team until the 2030 World Cup. One of the main obstacles was Klopp's contract as Head of Global Soccer at Red Bull.

However, an agreement has been reached with chief executive Oliver Mintzlaff, which reportedly means the DFB will not have to pay substantial compensation beyond the severance package for Nagelsmann.

Klopp recently commented on the situation.

"Nothing has been completely finalized yet, but the discussions are continuing and everything is moving in the right direction. I have reached an agreement with Red Bull, a very good agreement, so there is really nothing standing in the way anymore."

Final Formalities Delay the Official Announcement

Approval from both the supervisory board and the shareholders is now considered to be merely a formality.

The DFB leadership, led by Bernd Neuendorf and vice president Hans-Joachim Watzke, has successfully completed negotiations with all relevant parties over the past several weeks.

Klopp also acknowledged that several administrative steps still need to be completed.

"However, there are still many discussions that need to take place because we are dealing with an organizational body and many people must be informed. No decision has been made yet, but we are not far away from being able to make an announcement."

If all the remaining formalities are completed, Klopp's long-awaited official presentation could take place at the DFB association campus in Frankfurt as early as this Friday.

Once the official confirmation is announced, Klopp will immediately begin assembling his coaching staff to implement the high-intensity tactical vision that has become his trademark.

The Germany national team has an urgent need to rebuild confidence and restore the squad's dynamics ahead of its upcoming international fixtures.

The immediate focus will be on evaluating the available player pool and establishing a new identity to ensure the long-term project's success leading up to the 2030 World Cup.
