Mansion Sports – Paris Saint-Germain have reached an initial agreement with Barcelona for Ferran Torres, the Spanish forward who has been a target for the French club this summer.

The past few hours have been marked by intense negotiations between Paris and Barcelona. Offers, counteroffers, and negotiations over the final details continued until both parties reached an understanding that has effectively completed the deal, according to Catalan newspaper "Sport".

The official announcement will be delayed for several more hours than initially expected, but Ferran Torres will be a Paris Saint-Germain player before the weekend.

According to the newspaper, the Paris club fully understood that Barcelona would remain firm until the end in their demand for a fixed fee of €50 million.

The biggest point of disagreement concerned the additional clauses and the difficulty of incorporating them into the final overall value.

Sources close to Paris Saint-Germain told the Catalan newspaper that the deal will be worth €50 million as a base fee, plus €5 million in variables.

Barcelona Reject Paris Saint-Germain's Initial Offer

Barcelona firmly rejected Paris Saint-Germain's initial offer of €40 million plus €10 million on Monday.

Since then, president Nasser Al-Khelaifi authorised an improved offer, recognising that reaching the €50 million figure was essential to completing the deal.

At Paris Saint-Germain, the newspaper added, Ferran will be guaranteed a place in a system that suits him extremely well, under manager Luis Enrique, who has always trusted him.

Neither sporting director Deco nor head coach Hansi Flick provided the support that the Spanish player had expected.

Luis Enrique, instead, was the first to take action, calling him directly and explaining the role he would play in a team built around rotation.

Dembélé, Kvaratskhelia, and Doué are undoubtedly the attacking trio who make the difference. However, with "Lucho" in charge, new forwards are guaranteed opportunities.

Deal Still Completed Amid the European Super Cup

The European Super Cup match against Aston Villa on Wednesday required the French club's senior officials to travel to Salzburg. That did not prevent the deal from being completed.

Rather than hindering the negotiations, the trip did not create any obstacle at all. Both parties had agreed to turn their verbal understanding into a signed contract.
