Mansion Sports – Bayern Munich star Leon Goretzka appears set to leave the club within the next six months and could receive several offers from some of Europe’s most prestigious teams.

The Germany international midfielder is due to see his contract expire next summer.

Bayern Munich are in fact open to extending his stay, but Goretzka is reportedly more interested in continuing his career outside Germany after the club’s attempt to sell him last summer made him feel that his future at the Allianz Arena had come to an end.

Now 30 years old, Goretzka has entered the final phase of his contract and is, under regulations, permitted to sign a pre-contract agreement with another club.

He is reported to have been in communication with his former coach, Hansi Flick, regarding a potential move, although Barcelona are currently not prioritizing the midfield sector.

Atletico Madrid have also shown interest, while Juventus and Napoli are monitoring the situation as well, although there are differing views regarding the seriousness of Napoli’s pursuit.

AC Milan Make Contact with Leon Goretzka

Another Serie A giant, AC Milan, have also entered the race to secure Goretzka’s services.

Transfer journalist Gianluca Di Marzio has reported that Milan have made contact with the player’s representatives to discuss the terms of a potential move.

Nevertheless, the experienced midfielder’s high wage demands could become the main obstacle in the negotiation process.

Move to Atletico Madrid Considered Beneficial for All Parties

Atletico Madrid are currently searching for a central midfielder with a box-to-box profile in the January transfer window, as Conor Gallagher is reportedly edging closer to a move to Tottenham Hotspur.

That profile is considered to be a strong match for Goretzka’s playing characteristics. In addition, he could be available at a relatively affordable cost, although Bayern Munich would need to approve the departure of one of their key depth players in the middle of the season.

On the other hand, Atletico Madrid’s Sporting Director, Mateu Alemany, is said to be more inclined to look for younger midfield options.

The club’s transfer policy last summer demonstrated a focus on long-term development.

Of the nine signings brought in, six were aged 25 or younger, while Clement Lenglet was the oldest player recruited, arriving on a free transfer at the age of 29.
