Mansion Sports – Chicago Fire forward Robert Lewandowski admitted that Real Madrid have become stronger under their new Portuguese coach, José Mourinho.

The former Barcelona star told AS newspaper: “Real Madrid have become stronger now with the new players and Mourinho, but I will always be on Barcelona’s side.”

The Polish forward highlighted the decline in the number of goals this summer following his own departure, Rashford’s return to Manchester United, and Ferran Torres’ transfer to Paris Saint-Germain.

Barcelona Remain Capable of Competing

“Last season we scored 65 goals, but Barcelona know how to work well until the end,” Lewandowski explained.

Looking ahead to the new season and the Champions League, the Chicago Fire player believes this season could look very different.

“The situation could be different for the team compared with last season, because the team has many quality players, along with the new players,” he said.

Champions League Becomes Barcelona’s Dream

He stressed: “I think the Champions League is a dream for Barcelona, but they are going through a stage in which the players who were still very young two or three years ago now have experience.”

“There are eight players who are world champions. This is something special for them, and also for Spain. In the end, I hope Barcelona make the effort, win, and are able to celebrate the Champions League title.”

Barcelona Among the Title Contenders

Lewandowski emphasized that Barcelona are among the leading teams. “Barcelona are one of the candidates to win, along with two or three other teams. In Europe, it does not matter how you play at the beginning of the season; what matters is maintaining your level of performance throughout the rest of the year. I hope that in the end we can talk about Barcelona and the number of titles they have won.”

Moving from Europe to the United States Is a Major Step

Regarding his new chapter in the American league, he explained: “There are many Polish people in the United States, and at every match I see many of them, which is something special for me. I feel good; at first you need time to adapt, not only to the city but also to the country.”

“Moving from Europe to the United States is a major step, and it is not like the move I made from Germany to Spain,” he added.

“At first it was more difficult, but my family and I are very happy with this city, the team, and my teammates.”

Preparing for Better Condition

He concluded: “Now we have time to prepare ourselves and work better. We have played many matches in succession without a preparation period, and I need time to train. I need to take a break, and I hope to be in better condition in the coming weeks.”
