Mansion Sports – Manchester United have reportedly made an ambitious late move to sign Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga before the transfer window closes.

The Red Devils are reportedly preparing an opening offer worth £43 million for the France international as Michael Carrick seeks to add elite quality to his midfield.

Manchester United are ready to test Real Madrid's resolve with a significant late approach for Camavinga during the transfer window.

According to a report from Spanish media outlet Cadena SER, the Premier League giants have identified the versatile midfielder as a primary target to strengthen their squad.

The 23-year-old joined Real Madrid from Rennes in the summer of 2021 and is under contract at Santiago Bernabeu until the summer of 2029.

Despite making several signings this summer, the hierarchy at Old Trafford appears determined to secure a major acquisition capable of changing the technical profile of the team's midfield unit.

The interest comes at an intriguing time for the Spanish club, with former Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho recently taking charge.

Mourinho had previously stated that Real Madrid's summer recruitment activity was complete, but an official offer for a player currently struggling to secure regular playing time could force him to reconsider that decision.

Camavinga made 43 appearances in all competitions for Real Madrid last season, scoring two goals and providing one assist, but his role appears to have become limited under the new management, having played only 10 minutes as a substitute in their 2-1 victory over Espanyol in the opening match of the season.

The sudden move for Camavinga is viewed by some as a reaction to United's recent performances on the pitch.

United are not the only Premier League club monitoring the situation, as Chelsea are also reportedly in contention for the 23-year-old.

Reports from Spain indicate that The Red Devils still have around £80 million in their transfer budget, which they intend to divide between their pursuit of Camavinga and Barcelona left-back Alejandro Balde.

The club have explored several options to address the vacancy in their defense, including a long-standing interest in Lewis Hall and a more recent connection with Arsenal youngster Myles Lewis-Skelly.

Recent reports suggest that Balde prefers to remain at Barcelona rather than move to Manchester, dealing a blow to Carrick's defensive plans.
