Mansion Sports – Pep Guardiola has once again etched his name into English football history after guiding Manchester City to victory over Brentford last Sunday. 

The result marked Guardiola’s 250th win in the Premier League — an extraordinary milestone that establishes him as the fastest manager ever to reach this achievement. 

He surpassed the records of two legendary figures, Sir Alex Ferguson and Arsène Wenger, achieving the feat in only 349 matches. The narrow 1–0 triumph over Brentford, sealed by an early goal from Erling Haaland in the first half, also lifted City to fifth place in the Premier League standings.

Guardiola Breaks a Premier League Record

The victory against Brentford represents a major landmark in Pep Guardiola’s managerial career. 

With a total of 250 wins from just 349 matches, the Spanish tactician officially becomes the fastest manager in Premier League history to reach this number. 

By comparison, Manchester United icon Sir Alex Ferguson recorded his 250th win after 404 games, while Arsenal’s Arsène Wenger achieved it in 423 matches. 

Former United manager and current Everton boss David Moyes required as many as 645 games to secure the same total.

Manchester City Begins to Regain Their Rhythm

Despite losing one of their key players, Rodri, to injury during the match against Brentford, Manchester City displayed clear signs of recovery after enduring two consecutive defeats earlier in the season against Tottenham Hotspur and Brighton. 

The Spanish midfielder was forced off the pitch after just 20 minutes due to an injury, casting doubt on his availability for the upcoming fixtures.

Nevertheless, under Guardiola’s leadership, City have gradually rediscovered their best form. The Citizens are now unbeaten in their last four Premier League matches and seven games across all competitions. 

The three points earned from the Brentford win also propelled them to fifth place in the standings, signaling that the reigning champions are finding their way back into the title race.

Erling Haaland Rediscovers His Lethal Form

City’s star striker, Erling Haaland, has once again demonstrated his formidable scoring prowess in the 2025–2026 season. 

The Norwegian forward has begun the campaign in sensational fashion, netting 12 goals in just nine appearances across all competitions. 

His impressive performances indicate a return to peak form following a challenging end to the previous season.

However, Haaland has openly admitted that he still feels pressure from his main rivals, including Harry Kane and Kylian Mbappé, in the race for Europe’s top scorer title.
