Mansion Sports – Milan midfielder Youssouf Fofana has completed his move just before the transfer deadline to join Sevilla on loan without a purchase option, after Olympique Lyonnais encountered complications, meaning Besiktas and Galatasaray once again failed to sign him.

The player was not part of manager Ruben Amorim’s plans for this season and was also excluded from both the summer friendly matches and training sessions with the rest of the squad.

He had previously appeared to have secured a deadline-day transfer to Olympique Lyonnais on a €2 million loan deal with a purchase option at the end of the season for an additional €12 million.

Fofana Ends Up at Sevilla

However, the Ligue 1 club was hindered by the chaos between Sunderland and Crystal Palace in their attempt to sign Malick Fofana, meaning they were not permitted to bring in a replacement before the French transfer deadline expired.

Youssouf Fofana was then expected to join one of the leagues that remained open for several more days and had previously targeted him, particularly the Turkish Super Lig, with Besiktas and Galatasaray showing strong interest.

Instead, Sevilla announced tonight that they had secured Youssouf Fofana on loan without a purchase option.

This only postpones the decision until a later stage, but ensures that the player was unwilling to wait for a more permanent solution in Turkey.

Sky Sport Italia claims that the agreement is a free loan, with Sevilla only contributing towards his salary.
