Rodri Speaks Out Regarding Transfer Rumors to Real Madrid
Mansion Sports – Real Madrid are in a very favorable position to advance to the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
However, before securing their place in the next stage, they must first face Manchester City in the second leg of the round of 16.
The team coached by Alvaro Arbeloa managed to secure a convincing 3–0 victory in the first leg held at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium last week, and they are now hoping to complete the task when they travel to the Etihad Stadium.
The victory in the first leg was an extraordinary result for Real Madrid. On the other hand, Manchester City felt very disappointed after suffering a defeat by such a significant goal margin.
Rodri Hernandez expressed this when speaking to Cadena SER regarding the match at the Bernabeu, as quoted by Diario AS. Nevertheless, the Spanish midfielder still believes that the opportunity for a comeback remains open.
“A little frustrated with the result, but that has been the story throughout this season. We have experienced difficulties in the final third of the pitch. The quality required to score that final goal is perhaps what has harmed us the most. But in football, the most important thing is to put the ball into the net.”
“We must perform with greater accuracy and take a step forward in that aspect. I think we already have the other elements: the play, the ability to create opportunities.”
“It is true that we were not able to score in the previous match, but we must lift the team, because on Tuesday we will face an important match. The most important thing is to ensure that the team is capable of creating opportunities.”
Rodri Responds to Rumors of Real Madrid Interest
Rodri has also been in the spotlight because his name has been linked with a possible move to Real Madrid in the upcoming summer transfer window.
However, the Spanish national team midfielder emphasized that he does not want to think about his future at the moment.
“I will not answer that. Now is the time to focus on what we are currently going through with my team and this season, and after that we will see.”
Rodri Admits He Is Gradually Recovering After ACL Injury
The past eighteen months have not been an easy period for Rodri after he suffered an anterior cruciate ligament injury, or ACL, in September 2024 during Manchester City’s match against Arsenal. Since then, he has undergone a long process to regain his best physical condition.
At present, Rodri revealed that his condition is gradually improving over time.
“To be honest I feel very good. Very, very happy. Of course individually, not because of the team’s situation, but I feel happy because my condition continues to improve over time. Everything is progressing step by step.”
