Mansion Sports – Trent Alexander-Arnold has officially embarked on a new chapter in his career after leaving Liverpool to join Real Madrid.

Alexander-Arnold’s farewell to Liverpool was filled with emotion. His long passing also fell short, with zero successful deliveries. These struggles led manager Xabi Alonso to bench him for the next match, a 3–0 win over Real Oviedo, fueling speculation that veteran Dani Carvajal could reclaim the starting role.

Responding on the Pitch with Club Backing

Despite mounting criticism, Alexander-Arnold began to answer his doubters in Madrid’s clash against Mallorca. He came close to registering his first La Liga assist through a sharp link-up with Mbappé, though the goal was ruled out for offside.

More importantly, he produced a vital defensive intervention in the second half that preserved Madrid’s narrow lead. 

Since then, talk of Carvajal permanently displacing him has subsided. While the experienced right-back will still feature due to the demanding schedule, Madrid’s investment in Alexander-Arnold—a two-year pursuit capped with a six-year contract—underscores their long-term vision for him.
