Responding to the speculation on his YouTube channel, Romano dismissed the idea that a move to Stamford Bridge is underway.
The journalist stated that although the relationship between the coach and player remains strong, no official negotiations have taken place between the two Premier League rivals regarding a summer transfer.
No Summer Departure for the Former Leverkusen Star
Despite reports claiming that Liverpool might be open to a sale if they could recover a transfer fee close to the ÂŁ116 million ($156 million) they paid for Wirtz, Romano stated that The Reds remain committed to their number 7.
“No, Florian Wirtz will not leave Liverpool this summer. The relationship between Xabi Alonso and Florian Wirtz is very good, of course. They won together and had a fantastic time together at Bayer Leverkusen, but that is all. There is nothing official, no talks,” said Romano.
The Italian journalist also added that Chelsea’s current recruitment strategy may not align with a transfer of that kind.
“Chelsea are not looking for a player of that profile, and it is important to mention that Florian Wirtz remains an important part of Liverpool’s squad. They believe next season could be his season in the red shirt, so there is absolutely no movement regarding Florian Wirtz. Forget it,” he explained.

Wirtz arrived on Merseyside last year as the club’s second most expensive signing of all time, but his first year in England became a period of adaptation.
