Bodo/Glimt Coach Dismisses Inter’s Pitch Complaints: ‘Manchester City Did Not Even Mention It’

Mansion SportsBodo/Glimt head coach Kjetil Knutsen has dismissed Inter’s complaints regarding the condition of the Norwegian side’s home pitch. He emphasised that Manchester City did not even mention the issue.

Bodo/Glimt have travelled to Milan for the second leg of the Champions League knockout phase play-off against Inter.

The Norwegian side secured a 3-1 victory over the Nerazzurri in last week’s meeting, meaning they arrive in Milan holding a two-goal aggregate advantage to defend in the decisive encounter.

Inter had expressed complaints about the use of artificial turf at Bodo/Glimt’s home ground even before last week’s match was played.

The Serie A leaders not only suffered defeat in that fixture but also lost their captain and top scorer, Lautaro Martinez, due to a muscle injury that will sideline him for one month.

“There is nothing I can do about that. We just have to focus on what we can control,” Knutsen said in a pre-match press conference on Monday via TMW.

“City did not even mention the pitch, and we are not accustomed to the grass at San Siro either. I focus on other matters. In my opinion, it is not wise to speak about other contexts unrelated to football, but what others do is not something important to me.”

Bodo/Glimt’s Track Record and Praise from Klopp

In January, the Manchester City side featuring Gigio Donnarumma suffered a 3-1 defeat when visiting Bodo/Glimt in the Champions League group stage.

Bodo/Glimt also eliminated Atletico Madrid in the previous stage of the competition and recently received praise from former Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp.

“Klopp is a great person and coach, I am pleased with his praise, but I am thinking about Bodo/Glimt,” Knutsen said.

“I want the players to focus on the match, and I must do the same.”
