Mansion Sports – Spain delivered a dominant performance against Croatia in the UEFA Nations League.

The emphatic 4-1 victory provided further evidence that the world champions remain in impressive form, with Lamine Yamal emerging as the star of the show thanks to his brace.

After previously defeating England in their opening match, Spain once again showcased relentless attacking football in Seville.

The victory also kept Spain comfortably at the top of Group 3 with a perfect record after securing back-to-back wins.

A Blistering Start in Seville

Spain began the match with incredible intensity at Estadio Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan.

Yamal opened the scoring just two minutes after kick-off. He fired a left-footed shot into the bottom corner after receiving an accurate pass from Álex Baena.

Croatia struggled to cope with the early pressure, while the hosts continued to dominate possession.

Opta recorded the historic moment by stating: "Spain have scored within the first two minutes of consecutive matches, against England and Croatia. This is the first time they have done so in any competition since at least 2004."

Quick Response Restores the Lead

Croatia managed to equalize against the run of play when Dion Beljo headed Ivan Perisic's cross into the net in the 28th minute.

However, Spain almost immediately responded to regain the lead. Just three minutes later, Yamal turned provider by delivering a beautiful cross from a corner, which Marc Pubill headed into the net.

The hosts continued to exert complete control in midfield, limiting the opposition's chances while consistently threatening Dominik Livakovic. The score could easily have been even greater before half-time.

Mikel Oyarzabal briefly found the net, but the goal was ruled out for offside, while Fermin Lopez struck the post during stoppage time.

Securing Crucial Points

Spain continued to control the tempo in the second half and eventually extended their advantage. Yamal scored his second goal in the 63rd minute.

He finished a superb chance from a difficult angle after receiving a pass from substitute Pedri. Luis de la Fuente's side enjoyed 63.7% possession and recorded a total of 16 shots.

Amid the intense competition, the crowd at Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan showed tremendous respect by giving Croatia legend Luka Modric a standing ovation when he came onto the pitch in the 81st minute. De la Fuente's substitutions once again proved effective. Mikel Merino provided the assist for Nico Williams' goal in the 89th minute, securing the 4-1 victory.

Looking Ahead to Spain's Next Match

Spain now sit firmly at the top of League A Group 3 with six points. They had previously defeated England in their opening match before crushing Croatia.

Next, they will look to maintain their perfect record when they face Czechia in their next match, with the aim of securing their place in the knockout stage early.
