Mansion Sports – Liverpool FC rediscovered their winning rhythm in emphatic fashion as they demolished Eintracht Frankfurt 5-1 on matchday three of the 2025/2026 UEFA Champions League.

Despite falling behind early and losing Jeremie Frimpong to injury, Arne Slot’s side displayed remarkable composure and resilience, roaring back with a commanding five-goal performance at Deutsche Bank Park. 

The result not only halted Liverpool’s four-game losing streak across all competitions but also reaffirmed their credentials as a European powerhouse.

First Half: Frankfurt Strike First, Liverpool Respond with Three Goals

The match began at a frenetic pace, with Frankfurt buoyed by the energy of their home supporters. 

The German side pressed high and looked dangerous from the outset, eventually breaking the deadlock in the 26th minute through Rasmus Kristensen.

The former Leeds United defender capped off a swift counterattack down the right flank, firing a low drive between Andy Robertson’s legs and into the far corner past Alisson Becker.

The midfield pairing of Dominik Szoboszlai and Florian Wirtz orchestrated play brilliantly, leaving Frankfurt chasing shadows.

The fourth goal arrived in the 66th minute. Wirtz, showcasing his vision and precision, delivered a perfectly weighted pass into the path of Cody Gakpo, who calmly tapped in to extend the lead to 4-1. 

It was a special moment for Wirtz — his first direct goal contribution since joining Liverpool and debuting in the Community Shield earlier in the season.

Just four minutes later, Szoboszlai put the finishing touch on a magnificent night for The Reds. The Hungarian midfielder unleashed a thunderous long-range strike that arrowed into the bottom corner, leaving Michael Zetterer with no chance.

At 5-1, Liverpool were unstoppable. Frankfurt, drained and disorganized, struggled to mount any meaningful response. 

Liverpool, meanwhile, maintained their intensity, continuing to press high and circulate the ball efficiently until the final whistle.
