Mansion Sports – The Italian Football Federation has brought the debate over the composition of the new Italy national team coaching staff to an end.

Roberto Mancini has officially returned to lead the Azzurri, while Claudio Ranieri has been appointed as the federation's Technical Director.

Federation President Giovanni Malagò confirmed Mancini's appointment as head coach on Tuesday.

The appointment marks the veteran coach's return to the position he left in 2023, when he chose to begin a new chapter with the Saudi Arabia national team.

Malagò said during a press conference: "I believe Roberto Mancini is the best person to manage the Italy national team."

Mancini returns after a successful first spell in charge. He spent five years as head coach and delivered the European Championship title by guiding Italy to victory at UEFA Euro 2020 through a penalty shootout win over England in the final.

Ranieri's appointment as Technical Director completes the restructuring. The federation intends to utilize his experience to bring stability to both the administrative and technical structure following the various crises that have occurred over the past few days.

These changes follow a series of upheavals within the Italian Football Federation. Everything began with the failed process to appoint Andrea Pirlo, before Paolo Maldini and Leonardo announced their resignations shortly after beginning their respective roles.
