Mansion Sports – Bayern Munich secured a crucial three points at the Parc des Princes after defeating Paris Saint-Germain 2-1 in their fourth matchday of the 2025/2026 UEFA Champions League group stage. 

Despite being reduced to ten men before halftime, the German champions displayed composure and discipline to hold off PSG’s relentless attacks.

Two first-half goals from Luis Díaz made the decisive difference, while PSG could only respond through Joao Neves’ strike in the second half. 

The result solidified Bayern’s position at the top of the group standings with a perfect record of 12 points from four matches, while PSG remained in third place with nine points.

Bayern Takes Early Control Through Luis Díaz’s Brace

Bayern Munich immediately seized control of the game from the opening whistle. Luis Díaz opened the scoring after capitalizing on a rebound from Michael Olise’s effort, giving the visitors an early advantage.

PSG attempted to respond quickly through Fabian Ruiz and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, but both attempts missed the target. 

Bayern continued to threaten, with Serge Gnabry’s powerful strike rattling the post. The pressure soon paid off again when Díaz intercepted a misplaced touch from Marquinhos and finished clinically to double Bayern’s lead, making it 2-0.

The hosts tried to narrow the gap through Lee Kang-In and Bradley Barcola, yet Manuel Neuer delivered an outstanding performance in goal, making several key saves to deny them. 

Bayern briefly thought they had scored a third when Josip Stanisic found the net, but the goal was ruled out for offside. 

In stoppage time of the first half, Díaz was shown a red card, forcing Bayern to play the remainder of the match with ten men.

PSG Dominates Possession but Fails to Break Bayern’s Defense

Entering the second half, PSG increased their attacking intensity, determined to capitalize on their numerical advantage. 

Vitinha and Lee Kang-In created multiple dangerous chances, but Neuer remained unshaken, displaying remarkable reflexes to preserve Bayern’s lead.

PSG’s persistence eventually paid off in the 74th minute when Joao Neves converted from close range after an intelligent pass from Lee Kang-In. The goal reignited hope for the home side and energized the Parisian crowd.

Despite heavy pressure in the closing stages, Bayern’s defensive structure held firm. Late chances from Marquinhos, Neves, and Vitinha all went begging as the visitors maintained their composure under intense pressure. 

When the final whistle blew, Bayern emerged victorious 2-1, claiming a valuable away win and maintaining their perfect record in the Champions League group stage.
