Athletic Bilbao earned their first group-stage victory, overcoming an early scare from Qarabag, who took the lead just 49 seconds into the match through Leandro Andrade.

Bilbao responded with determination as Gorka Guruzeta equalized before halftime, converting a precise pass from Mikel Jaureguizar with a powerful strike. 

Substitute Roberto Navarro then curled home a brilliant effort in the 70th minute to complete the comeback, before Guruzeta sealed the win with his second goal late on.

2. Galatasaray 3-1 Bodo/Glimt

Victor Osimhen shone brightly as Galatasaray recorded back-to-back Champions League wins for the first time in nearly 13 years.

The Nigerian forward opened the scoring in the third minute following a clever through-ball from Mario Lemina, then doubled his tally after intercepting a poor pass from Fredrik Andre Bjorkan.

Persistent attacking pressure paid off again when Yunus Akgun capitalized on a goalkeeping error to make it 3-0, while Andreas Helmersen’s late header for Bodo/Glimt served only as consolation.

3. AS Monaco 0-0 Tottenham Hotspur

9. Sporting CP 2-1 Marseille

Sporting Lisbon staged a sensational comeback in the second half, led by substitutes Geny Catamo and Alisson Santos.

Marseille had taken the lead through a curling strike from Igor Paixao, but the visitors’ hopes faded when Emerson received a red card before halftime.

Catamo equalized with a sharp finish before Alisson Santos’s deflected strike in the 86th minute completed the turnaround, sealing a dramatic victory in Lisbon.
