Juventus Reportedly Set to Meet Luciano Spalletti to Discuss New Head Coach Position
Mansion Sports – Juventus are reportedly exploring the possibility of appointing Luciano Spalletti as their new head coach following the dismissal of Igor Tudor.
According to a report from Sky Sport Italia, direct talks between Juventus and Spalletti could take place on Tuesday local time, with the club said to be preparing a short-term contract that includes an automatic extension option.
Juventus Searching for Igor Tudor’s Replacement
This move comes after Juventus officially parted ways with Croatian coach Igor Tudor on Monday morning. Tudor’s tenure ended after a series of poor results, with the Bianconeri failing to secure a single victory in their last eight matches across all competitions and going four consecutive games without scoring a goal.
As a result, Tudor became the first Serie A coach to lose his job in the 2025/2026 season, only eight matches into the campaign.
Luciano Spalletti Emerges as the Leading Candidate
According to journalist Gianluca Di Marzio and Sky Sport Italia, Juventus have identified Luciano Spalletti as the frontrunner to replace Tudor.
The former Napoli and Italy national team coach is reportedly open to returning to Serie A after turning down several offers from clubs abroad.
Spalletti, who guided Napoli to the Serie A title in the 2022/2023 season, is viewed by Juventus as an ideal figure to restore stability in Turin.
His extensive experience managing elite clubs and his strong leadership in handling dressing room dynamics make him a suitable candidate to handle the intense pressure that comes with managing the Bianconeri.
Short-Term Contract Proposal
Reports indicate that Juventus are preparing to offer Spalletti a contract valid until the end of the 2025/2026 season, with an automatic extension clause triggered if the team qualifies for the following season’s UEFA Champions League.
However, it remains unclear whether the extension would last for 12 months or a full two-year period.
Di Marzio added that Spalletti has expressed genuine interest in accepting the offer, regardless of the length of the proposed extension.
Rejection of Offers from Abroad
Sky Sport Italia also reported that Spalletti recently declined several lucrative offers from outside Italy, including approaches from Turkish club Fenerbahçe and multiple Qatari teams offering substantial contracts.
His decision was reportedly driven by a desire to return to Serie A — the league where he established his reputation as one of Italy’s most respected tacticians.
Should an agreement be finalized, Spalletti would face the formidable challenge of revitalizing a struggling Juventus side while steering the club toward a medium-term project aimed at reestablishing their dominance in Serie A and European football.
