Failed to Sign Gordon? Bayern Target Ajax Goal Machine

Mansion Sports – FC Bayern Munich are monitoring Ajax Amsterdam winger Mika Godts as part of their efforts to strengthen their attacking line.

According to Bild, FC Bayern Munich hold a general interest in the 20-year-old Belgian winger Godts, although he is not among their top three options for the left side alongside Luis Díaz.

Bayern’s primary target for that position is Anthony Gordon of Newcastle United, but the €90 million fee demanded by the Magpies is currently far beyond Bayern’s budget, with both clubs reportedly having a valuation gap of more than €20 million regarding the winger.

Bayern See Mika Godts as a Long-Term Prospect

Bayern view Mika Godts as a talented player and consider him a potential future signing, but the club does not currently see an urgent need to act. Manchester United and Manchester City are also monitoring the Ajax star.

Godts began his youth career at RSC Anderlecht, later moved to KRC Genk, and joined Ajax at the age of 17, where he broke into the first team after several appearances for the reserve squad. In March, he made his debut for the Belgium national team.

Mika Godts Leads League Scoring Charts

Despite Ajax enduring another underwhelming season, Godts has produced strong statistics: 17 goals and 12 assists in 30 Eredivisie appearances.

This places him at the top of the league scoring charts, ahead of Ayase Ueda (27, Feyenoord Rotterdam) and Ismael Saibari (23, PSV Eindhoven).

His contract in Amsterdam runs until 2029, and his current market value stands at €25 million, making him a significantly more cost-effective option for FC Bayern compared to Anthony Gordon.
