Mansion Sports – Inter Milan claimed an important win in Matchday 9 of the 2025/2026 Serie A season. Playing at home, the Nerazzurri delivered a dominant performance to defeat Fiorentina 3-0 at the San Siro.

The home side’s goals came from Hakan Calhanoglu, who scored twice, and Petar Sucic, who added the third.

With this victory, Inter climbed to third place in the Serie A standings with 18 points, while Fiorentina remain in the relegation zone, sitting 18th with just four points.

First Half

Playing in front of their supporters, Inter Milan immediately took control of possession and dictated the tempo from the opening minutes. Their organized pressing and quick passing forced Fiorentina to stay compact in their defensive third.

Despite their dominance, Inter initially struggled to find a breakthrough. Fiorentina’s defensive structure, led by their experienced backline, proved difficult to penetrate, and several promising chances were denied by goalkeeper David De Gea, who put on a fine display between the posts.

Fiorentina relied heavily on counterattacks and set-piece situations, which on a few occasions caused tense moments for Inter’s defense. However, the hosts managed to stay composed and prevent any major threats.

Second Half

Inter resumed the second half with greater urgency and continued to pile pressure on Fiorentina’s defense in search of an opening goal. Their persistence was finally rewarded in the 66th minute.

Hakan Calhanoglu found space outside the penalty area and unleashed a powerful strike that flew past De Gea into the corner of the net, giving Inter a 1-0 lead.

Five minutes later, Inter doubled their advantage. Petar Sucic received a precise pass from Lautaro Martinez, dribbled past two defenders, and sent a low shot into the net to make it 2-0 for the hosts.

Fiorentina’s night worsened in the 86th minute when defender Mattia Viti committed a reckless foul inside the penalty area. The challenge earned him a second yellow card and a subsequent red, while Inter were awarded a penalty.

Calhanoglu stepped up once again and converted the spot-kick with confidence, sealing a comprehensive 3-0 victory for Inter Milan.
