Sidelined Again by Injury, Arsenal Striker’s Difficult Season Continues
Mansion Sports – Arsenal have once again received unfavorable news regarding the condition of one of their forwards, Kai Havertz.
The Germany international has been forced to return to the sidelines after sustaining his latest injury. Throughout the 2025-26 season, Havertz has struggled more with fitness issues, and he is now expected to miss several important matches, including the North London derby against Tottenham Hotspur next weekend, due to this new physical problem.
After previously working hard to regain his best condition, this situation further extends the difficult period experienced by Havertz with The Gunners.
Havertz’s Season Disrupted by Injuries
Havertz concluded the 2024-25 season while recovering from a hamstring injury that ruled him out for the final three months of the competition.
Not yet fully restored to optimal performance, he encountered another setback with a knee problem just one week after the start of the 2025-26 campaign.
The knee injury required him to undergo treatment for approximately four and a half months before he was finally able to return to the pitch in the first half of January.
Mikel Arteta had previously emphasized that Havertz needed to be reintegrated gradually into the first-team squad given the length of his absence.
However, in the midst of that process, the German player has once again been struck by a new fitness issue.
What Is the Next Step for Havertz?
This season, Havertz has made only seven appearances in all competitions for Arsenal. From those appearances, he has contributed two goals and two assists.
One of his most significant contributions was the decisive goal against his former club, Chelsea, in the second leg of the English League Cup semifinal last week.
He is now racing against time to recover his physical condition in order to face the crucial phase of Arsenal’s season, while also preserving his opportunity to represent Germany in the upcoming World Cup.
List of Matches He Could Potentially Miss
According to a report from The Athletic, Havertz has suffered a muscle injury. It was not explained in detail whether the injury occurred during a training session or in the 3-0 victory over Sunderland last weekend.
As a result of the injury, Havertz is expected to miss several important matches, namely against Brentford on Thursday early morning, Wigan Athletic in the FA Cup on Sunday, Wolverhampton Wanderers the following Wednesday, as well as the away North London derby at Tottenham Hotspur on the subsequent Sunday.
Squad Update from Arteta Ahead of the Trip to Brentford
Ahead of the match against Brentford, Arteta did not specifically mention Havertz’s name among the list of players who could potentially be absent.
He was only asked about the conditions of Bukayo Saka, Martin Odegaard, Leandro Trossard, and Max Dowman.
Arteta stated, “Max is still unavailable. For the others, we will assess them together with the medical team.”
The Arsenal manager was also asked about the condition of Mikel Merino, who recently underwent surgery on his foot.
He added, “The doctors are very satisfied with the procedure. Regarding the recovery timeline, we are talking in terms of months, whether it is three, four, or five months, I do not know exactly.”
The injury situation that continues to affect Havertz is certainly a serious concern for Arsenal. With a demanding schedule and increasingly tight competition, the fitness of key players will be crucial in determining The Gunners’ journey until the end of the season.
