Mansion Sports – AS Roma claimed an important victory in Matchday 9 of the 2025/2026 Serie A season. Playing at the Stadio Olimpico, the Giallorossi collected all three points after defeating Parma 2-1 in a tightly contested match.

The home side’s goals were scored by Mario Hermoso and Artem Dovbyk, while Parma managed to respond through Alessandro Circati.

With this win, Roma strengthened their position in second place in the Serie A standings with 21 points. Parma, on the other hand, remain in 15th place with seven points.

A Tight Contest in the Capital

The match at Stadio Olimpico unfolded at a high tempo, with both teams opting for an open and attacking approach from the outset. Roma, backed by their supporters, dominated possession and created a number of early chances, forcing Parma’s defense into several crucial interventions.

Wesley Franca’s movement on the left flank proved troublesome for Parma’s backline, while the visitors responded with several counterattacks that tested Roma’s defensive organization.

Late in the first half, the home crowd erupted in celebration when Matias Soule found the net, only for the goal to be ruled out by VAR after a thorough review. The decision left the scoreline unchanged at 0-0 going into halftime.

Hermoso and Dovbyk Deliver the Win

Roma resumed the second half with sustained pressure and attacking intent. Their persistence was rewarded in the 63rd minute when Mario Hermoso rose highest to meet a well-taken corner and directed his header into the net, giving Roma a 1-0 advantage.

The Giallorossi doubled their lead in the 86th minute through a moment of brilliance from Artem Dovbyk. The Ukrainian striker curled a precise shot into the top corner from inside the box, extending Roma’s lead to 2-0.

Parma, however, refused to concede easily. Four minutes later, Alessandro Circati capitalized on a headed assist from Adrian Benedyczak to pull one back, narrowing the gap to 2-1. Despite their late efforts, the visitors were unable to find an equalizer before the final whistle.
