Fourfold Salary Increase: Raphinha Tempted by Move to Saudi Arabia!

Mansion Sports – The Saudi Pro League is reportedly attempting to lure Raphinha away from FC Barcelona by offering a salary four times higher than his current earnings.

According to Spanish sports newspaper Mundo Deportivo, two Saudi clubs, Al-Nassr and Al-Hilal, are pursuing the 29-year-old Brazilian player.

His net salary is reported to rise from €12 million to €48 million per year. Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) is backing both interested clubs, hoping that securing stars such as Raphinha will further elevate the profile of their competition.

To secure the transfer, the Saudi side is prepared to offer Barcelona a transfer fee of €80 million.

Raphinha Previously Considered a Saudi Offer

Raphinha admitted that he had seriously considered a move to Saudi Arabia in the summer of 2024, prior to the appointment of Hansi Flick as Barcelona head coach. At that time, the winger was ready to accept the offer until the German coach convinced him to stay.

“The offer we received from Saudi Arabia was very tempting. It would have changed not only my life, but also the lives of my parents, my son, and many other people,” Raphinha told ESPN Brasil in October 2025.

“Of course, we considered leaving Barcelona,” he admitted.

Raphinha Recently Struggled with Injuries

Under Flick’s management, Raphinha delivered an outstanding 2024/25 season, scoring 34 goals and providing 23 assists, forming a highly dangerous wing partnership with Lamine Yamal for the Catalan club.

However, in the recently concluded season, injuries limited his appearances, with the winger playing 24 fewer matches compared to the previous campaign.

According to the report, Barcelona believe that even if a new offer arrives, Raphinha will once again reject a move to Saudi Arabia in order to pursue a third attempt under coach Flick to win the Champions League, after already securing two LaLiga titles.
