Real Madrid & Barcelona Target Morgan Rogers, PSG Ready to Hijack the Move!

Mansion Sports – Aston Villa star Morgan Rogers is reportedly capable of making a sensational move to European giants Barcelona or Real Madrid after impressing in the Premier League.

As the 23-year-old’s value continues to rise, Unai Emery’s side have also been warned against attempting to sign Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus, despite his attractive price tag.

European Giants Set Their Sights on Morgan Rogers

Rogers’ rapid development has not gone unnoticed, with former Aston Villa midfielder Andy Townsend stating that the 23-year-old forward has the potential to play for the biggest clubs in the world.

Since arriving at Villa Park, Rogers has impressed with his physical strength and versatility, qualities that have now linked him with several major clubs across Europe.

"I genuinely think he is the type of player who could play for anyone," Townsend told OLBG. "He could go to Barcelona, to Real Madrid, name them, because there are not many players who can do what he does. This may not have been his best season personally with Aston Villa, but he has still been very effective."

Those comments come amid reports that Rogers has become a serious target for Premier League champions Arsenal, who are looking to strengthen their attacking options.

The Thomas Tuchel Factor and PSG Links

Rogers’ future could be heavily influenced by his position at international level. With Thomas Tuchel leading England toward the 2026 World Cup, strong performances with The Three Lions could increase the young player’s transfer value to a level that Aston Villa may find difficult to resist, potentially attracting interest from clubs such as Paris Saint-Germain.

"I think what determines Morgan’s summer will be what happens with England. Clearly Thomas Tuchel sees the talent that he has," Townsend added. "If he performs well this summer, then it will be very difficult for Villa to turn down an offer of enormous value."

He explained: "Rogers to PSG? Being part of a project like that with so many young players would be very attractive. That team could stay together for at least another two or three years, so becoming part of that would be a very good move."

Warning Over Gabriel Jesus for Unai Emery

While Rogers could be heading toward the exit door, Villa have also been linked with a move for Arsenal striker Gabriel Jesus to strengthen their attacking line.

However, Townsend believes that the Brazil international, who has won five Premier League titles with Manchester City and Arsenal, carries too much risk because of his recurring fitness issues.

"I personally do not see Gabriel Jesus going to Aston Villa. I think at that price there will be plenty of interest, but he has had a lot of injury problems," Townsend explained.

"I think you have to be careful. Villa need to spend their money very wisely. Although I have always admired Jesus' work ethic and how hard he always works while leading the front line aggressively, his career has been disrupted by numerous injuries. For Villa, that would be a concern right now."

Financial Risk and the Ollie Watkins Dilemma

The reported £20 million ($27 million) valuation for Jesus may appear inexpensive in the modern market for a player of his reputation, but such a move would likely depend on whether Villa receive a major offer for their star striker Ollie Watkins.

Without a significant sale, making a major investment in a player with an unconvincing injury record is viewed as a gamble that could ultimately backfire for the Champions League participants.

"He is a cheap player at twenty million pounds, there is no doubt about that. He has won league titles with Arsenal and City, he knows how to do it," Townsend said.

"So he is a cheap player if the price is twenty million pounds or less. The issue is those injuries. Are you going to get 32 games out of him? If you only get 20 appearances per season, that is not enough. You need more than that for a club like Villa, so I do not really see it as the right fit."
