Valverde Suffers Head Injury, Tchouameni Denies Conflict at Real Madrid
Mansion Sports â Aurelien Tchouameni has firmly denied sensational media reports regarding a training-ground incident involving his Real Madrid teammate Federico Valverde.
The French midfielder insisted that the confrontation had been greatly exaggerated, while maintaining his full focus on achieving future success with the club in Spain.
Midfielder Sanctioned Following Confrontation
Madrid teammates Tchouameni and Valverde were recently involved in two separate incidents at the training ground, with the second resulting in the Uruguayan player requiring hospital treatment.
Valverde suffered a cut to his forehead after his head struck a table during a heated argument.
The Spanish giants immediately took internal disciplinary action by imposing fines of âŹ500,000 (ÂŁ432,100) on each player before both publicly issued apologies.
Valverde Explains Hospital Visit
Following the incident, Valverde released a detailed statement explaining that fatigue from competition had triggered the disagreement, while firmly denying that any physical violence had occurred between them:
"I had an incident with a teammate that originated from a situation during training, where fatigue from competition and pure frustration caused everything to be blown out of proportion.
"Today, we became involved in another disagreement. While arguing, I accidentally hit a table and suffered a small cut on my forehead that required a routine examination at the hospital.
"My teammate [Tchouameni] did not hit me, nor did I hit him. Although I understand that it may be easier for people to believe that we fought each other or that he deliberately injured me, that is simply not what happened."
Tchouameni Condemns Media Fabrication
Speaking from the France national team training camp, Tchouameni strongly criticized the media coverage that followed and firmly dismissed rumors linking him with a summer move to Manchester United:
"Some events did happen, and all of you have seen the reports. However, this situation has been blown completely out of proportion.
"At Real Madrid, everything always generates a massive reaction. Even so, a lot of nonsense has appeared in the media.
"I read that there had been a fight and that I was said to have struck him. That is completely untrue. I will not explain any further.
"The most important thing is that the club knows what actually happened. Many things happen in a dressing room that the media never finds out about. Life goes on. Fede and I have one clear objective: winning titles together with Real Madrid. There is absolutely no problem."
International Duty Becomes the Priority
Both players must now prepare to represent their respective countries at the upcoming World Cup.
France are scheduled to begin their group-stage campaign against Senegal on June 16, just one day after Uruguay open their tournament against Saudi Arabia.
A direct meeting between the two teammates in the competition is considered highly unlikely, as they are expected to be placed on opposite sides of the knockout-stage bracket.
