Mansion Sports – Raheem Sterling is in serious trouble. The former Feyenoord player has been charged with dangerous driving, possession of nitrous oxide, and refusing to undergo a drug test following a Lamborghini crash earlier this year. This is according to British media.

Earlier this year, Sterling was involved in a single-vehicle accident on the M3 in Hampshire, England. The 31-year-old forward crashed his Lamborghini, reportedly worth £270,000, into a road barrier. No other vehicles were involved and no one was injured.

Police arrested Sterling following the accident on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs.

The case has now become considerably more serious. The England international has officially been charged with dangerous driving, possession of nitrous oxide, and failing to provide the required sample for analysis.

Police Received Reports from Other Drivers

According to British media, police received reports after several motorists saw Sterling driving his Lamborghini on the motorway. They reportedly stated that the vehicle was travelling in a zigzag pattern along the road. The accident occurred shortly afterwards.

On September 15, Sterling is due to appear in court. Under English law, drivers convicted of dangerous driving can face a prison sentence of up to two years.

Sterling Released on Bail

After being arrested, the forward was released on bail. The investigation into the incident has now developed into a criminal case.

In February, Sterling joined Feyenoord after his contract with Chelsea expired. However, the forward failed to make a positive impression in Rotterdam.

In eight competitive appearances, he failed to score and provided just one assist. He has been without a club since the summer.
