Offers Begin to Emerge, Lewandowski’s Future at Barcelona Comes into Question

Offers Begin to Emerge, Lewandowski’s Future at Barcelona Comes into Question

Mansion SportsThe future of Robert Lewandowski remains uncertain. One club has reportedly taken concrete steps, while the possibility of him staying at Barcelona has not been completely ruled out.

Sky Sport reports that Barcelona president Joan Laporta has held discussions with Robert Lewandowski’s agent, Pini Zahavi, and the club is open to extending their partnership until 2027.

Contract Negotiations and Offers from Other Clubs

Robert Lewandowski would need to accept a salary reduction to extend his contract at Barcelona, but both parties believe that an agreement can be reached despite differences in financial expectations.

At the same time, MLS club Chicago Fire—former club of Bayern legend Bastian Schweinsteiger—has reportedly submitted an initial offer to Lewandowski’s representatives, which would allow the 37-year-old player to join as soon as the season ends.

Clubs from Saudi Arabia and Italy also continue to show interest, with AC Milan and Juventus Turin recently being directly linked with the striker.

Lewandowski Still Needed at Barcelona

The striker has not made many statements regarding his future plans in recent times.

In early March, he only stated that both staying at Barcelona and moving to another club remain possibilities for him: "I do not know. Because I need to feel it. At the moment I cannot say anything, because I am not even 50 percent sure which path I want to take. This is not the right time yet."

Under Barcelona coach Hansi Flick, Lewandowski still regularly receives playing opportunities, although he occasionally starts from the bench.

His record of 17 goals and three assists in 40 appearances, with more than 2,000 minutes of playing time, remains impressive.
