Real Madrid Prepared to Lower Rodrygo's Price
Mansion Sport - Real Madrid is reportedly ready to reduce their asking price for forward Rodrygo as part of a broader strategy involving a significant player exodus during the summer transfer window.
This move forms part of a tightly managed financial overhaul under the leadership of new head coach Xabi Alonso.
In the initial months of his tenure, Alonso has received substantial financial backing. With total spending reaching âŹ167.5 million ($196.8 million), only three Premier League clubsâLiverpool, Chelsea, and Arsenalâhave surpassed Real Madrid in transfer expenditure. However, revenues from player sales have yet to deliver proportional financial returns.
The Exodus Begins: Rodrygo Positioned as the First Major Departure
To date, Real Madridâs only incoming transfer revenue has come from Ălvaro RodrĂguezâs move to Elche for âŹ2 million ($2.4 million).
The wage burdens of Luka ModriÄ, Lucas VĂĄzquez, and JesĂşs Vallejo have been lifted following their departures, but this has not been sufficient to establish long-term financial balance.
In light of this, the club is preparing to launch what has been described as an âexit operationâ beginning in August, with Rodrygo reportedly prioritized as the first player to be offloaded, according to Spanish outlet AS.
The Brazilian forwardâs situation is already being framed as the potential âtransfer saga of the summer.â

Interest Grows as Real Madrid Signals Willingness to Lower Asking Price
Throughout the summer break, several Premier League clubs have expressed interest in Rodrygo. However, a move to Arsenal now appears highly unlikely, and Liverpoolâs pursuit has cooled.
Bayern Munich has shifted its attention to Liverpool's Luis DĂaz, creating space for Tottenham Hotspur to emerge as a potential contender for Rodrygoâs signature.
In an effort to increase interest from more clubs, Real Madrid is reportedly prepared to consider offers below their initial asking price of âŹ90 million (ÂŁ78.6 million or $105.7 million). That said, it remains unclear how much the club is willing to reduce the valuation by.
Rodrygo himself is believed to be reluctant to leave unless Xabi Alonso personally informs him that he is not part of the clubâs plans.
His limited playing time during the FIFA Club World Cup has not yet served as a clear enough indicator of his standing in the squad.
Additional Players on the Potential Exit List
Rodrygo is not the only player who could be on the move this summer. Real Madrid is also contemplating the sale of several other squad members, including David Alaba, Endrick, Ferland Mendy, and Dani Ceballos.
David Alaba has publicly expressed his desire to remain at the club and reportedly turned down an early termination offer that included partial wage compensation.
Endrick, the young Brazilian forward who recently arrived at the club, has also conveyed his intention to stay.
However, the emergence of Gonzalo GarcĂa has cast doubt on his role, and a recent hamstring injury has diminished interest from potential suitors. A January loan is now viewed as a more feasible path.
Ferland Mendy is similarly sidelined with injury and has lost his place in the first team. Dani Ceballos, on the other hand, appears more open to a transfer.
Nonetheless, it remains uncertain whether his former club, Real Betis, has the financial capability to fund a return, given their limited budget.
Through these calculated moves, Real Madrid appears poised to enter a pivotal phase of squad restructuringâone designed to maintain both competitive performance and long-term financial sustainability.
